Ye Zusheng, born in May 1942, originally from Gushi, Henan Province, currently resides in Anyi County, Jiangxi Province, and is a horticulturist. I have a passion for calligraphy and painting. My calligraphy was inspired by imitating Ouyang Xun's regular script, while my painting mainly focuses on traditional Chinese painting. The work has been exhibited multiple times in provincial, municipal, and county-level art exhibitions and has won numerous awards. I am currently a member of Jiangxi Book Association, Jiangxi Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Society, and Nanchang Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Association.
Wise, diligent, and relentless pursuit
Wei Jie (Director of Jiangxi Chinese Painting Society)
Lao Ye is my student and also an elder whom I respect. His ancestral home is in Henan. In the early 1970s, he led his family to settle down in a remote mountain valley in Anyi, Jiangxi, and began a difficult entrepreneurial life. The arduous years honed Old Ye's strong will and hardworking character. With his diligence and wisdom, he worked year after year, day after day, and in addition to farming, he also delved into fruit trees and horticulture. Hard work is rewarded by heaven. Decades have passed, and he has reaped the joy brought by cultivation: houses have been built higher than before, fragrant fruits hang on orchard trees, osmanthus trees are golden with a sweet fragrance, families have become wealthy, and children have grown up and become successful. He loves Anyi, Jiangxi, his second hometown, and the villagers here. He is enthusiastic about public welfare. Under his influence, his son donated tables and chairs to the school, and Lao Ye led the elderly left behind in the village to plant trees and green the area. These acts of kindness have been praised by neighbors and the government. During the harvest season, Lao Ye would invite his friends to be guests, enjoy tea and paintings, eat dishes from his own garden, smell the fragrance of osmanthus, and share the joy of harvest. What a peaceful scene.
The admiration for culture and the pursuit of art were the childhood dreams of Lao Ye and his unwavering original intention. Ten years ago, at the age of nearly sixty, he had a new goal, picked up his paintbrush again, started the Dream Fulfillment Action, made a plan to learn calligraphy and painting, enrolled in the calligraphy and painting class of the county's senior university. After ten years of ups and downs and ten years of diligent study, he often wrote until late at night and painted with his clothes on. Every Monday in class, he always brings a considerable quantity and quality of paintings, achieving his goals through his diligence. Over the past decade, Lao Ye has taken one step at a time, leaving traces on each step and taking one step at a time, bringing artistic gains. His hard work pays off, and his Chinese paintings have gradually formed their own appearance, with rich colors, full compositions, and bold yet revealing wisdom. The colorful flower and bird paintings, adorned with clusters of flowers, draw inspiration from the style of Tianjin Yangliu Youth Painting and Qi Baishi's philosophy of "great vulgarity is great elegance"; And figure painting has a different appearance, with a mix of beauty and elegance. The faces of the ladies are not adorned with makeup, but with a touch of rouge on their cherry lips, beautiful yet not vulgar. Playing the qin and holding the fan, reading poetry and admiring flowers, it's a picture that is both otherworldly and poetic. Every year, the flowers are similar, but every year, the people are different. "In Lao Ye's pen, beautiful women from different eras are diverse and charming, while women from rural areas are simple, muscular, and full. Modern rural life is the norm in Lao Ye's pen. In addition to labor, rural women enjoy the joy of life. The eyebrows and eyes under the willows convey emotions, the half naked play in the pool, and occasionally write a limerick on the screen. Simple, sincere, humorous and witty, it is admirable and awe inspiring. Friends are amazed. Lao Ye's paintings have connotations, life, stories, and humor, like" Xin Tian You "in Guanzhong and" Zi Zhu You "in Jiangnan. Adjustment.
The beauty is poetic, beautiful but not vulgar. His creative idea is like a horse flying in the sky, unconcerned and independent. His style of painting is rarely open and completely from the heart. I often get a lot of inspiration from Lao Ye's works, inspire my creative ideas, enhance my sense of picture and color, which is probably the mutual benefit of teaching and learning?
Lao Ye's hard work and diligence have brought about a bountiful harvest in art. As a farmer without profound culture or much leisure time, he has created numerous paintings. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of township leaders. The county television station conducted an exclusive interview with him, and the magazine "Leadership Style" has conducted multiple special reports. Three art exhibitions have been held in the town government, ancient villages, and villages, receiving praise from various parties. His works have also been collected by ancient villages and collectors.
Having multiple roles as a horticulturist, farmer, painter, and poet, the interweaving of multiple identities has created an extraordinary Old Ye, who has excelled in these industries. The story of painting is just one of the legendary stories of Old Ye. Gradually, people can discover more touching stories from this ordinary person, such as his diligence and wisdom, interpersonal skills, sincere treatment of friends, and willingness to suffer losses rather than mistreat them. These are the positive energy and charm of Old Ye.
I sincerely wish that Lao Ye's artistic tree will remain evergreen and the path of art will become wider and wider.
Lao Ye, we give you a thumbs up! cheer!
