On September 28th, the 4th Shanxi Province Calligraphy Biennial Exhibition opened at the Shuocheng District Library in Shuozhou City. The theme of this exhibition is "Shangshan Shuocheng, the first city in the frontier", aiming to use calligraphy art as a carrier to deeply explore and showcase Shuocheng's unique frontier culture, ecological new appearance, and humanistic spirit.
At the opening ceremony, Cheng Guodong, Deputy Secretary of the Shuocheng District Committee and District Mayor, delivered a speech; Bai Jie, Executive Director of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association and Executive Chairman of the Shanxi Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, introduced the specific situation of the "Biennial Exhibition"; Xu Xiaomei, consultant of Shanxi Calligraphers Association and chairman of Shanxi Women Calligraphers Association, announced the list of selection results; Wang Jianjun, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shuocheng District, presented the award to the award-winning author Yin Guancheng, who spoke on behalf of the award-winning author. Wu Lei and Jie Lin, representatives of the Shanxi Calligraphers Association and vice chairman of the Shanxi Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, donated calligraphy works and collections to Shuocheng District respectively; Jia Wenye, Executive Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of Shuocheng District Committee, and Mi Chengxiu, Chairman of Shuocheng District Federation of Literary and Art Circles, respectively presented him with a collection certificate. Guo Jian, Honorary Chairman of Shanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chairman of Shanxi Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association, delivered a speech; Zhao Guozhu, Vice Chairman of the 6th China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association and Chairman of Shanxi Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, announced the launch.
This exhibition is rich and colorful, showcasing calligraphy masterpieces from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, Macao Special Administrative Region, and overseas regions. After strict and fair evaluation, 20 award-winning works and 400 exhibited works were finally selected. These works cover both brush and hard pen calligraphy, with diverse forms and styles. They not only have a profound traditional heritage, but also embody the innovative spirit of the times, presenting the prosperous appearance and superb skills of the current "big calligraphy" creation. Artists use pens as boats and ink as bridges, condensing the historical accumulation, scenic beauty, and human warmth of Shuocheng into every inch, bringing audiences a readable, enjoyable, and perceptible artistic feast.
