The "Tianyu Ballad 'Rice Fish Coexistence' Cultural Painting and Literature Exhibition" hosted by Wang Shaoqiu Art Museum will be exhibited from October 1st to November 30th at the Huang Gongwang Retreat · Wang Shaoqiu Art Museum. As the name suggests, "Tianyu" refers to fish raised in the fields. It is reported that fish farming in rice paddies in Xiaozhoushan Village, Wenxi Town, Qingtian County, Zhejiang Province was listed as a "World Agricultural Heritage" by UNESCO in 1985.
This exhibition showcases a total of 19 painted manuscripts of "Tianyu Ballad" created by Wang Shaoqiu, as well as the folk picture book "Tianyu Ballad" published by China Academy of Art Press - a booklet compiled by her after years of collecting and organizing folk songs from her hometown of Qingtian.
The book is prefaced by the famous painter Wu Shanming, who wrote: "Tianyu Ballad" is a text compiled by Wang Shaoqiu based on folk songs since her involvement in the "Beautiful Countryside, Art Strategy" of Xiaozhoushan in 2016. She led a team to create wall paintings and edited the manuscript for Xiaozhoushan. These works are filled with a strong sense of life, passion, and romance. These pictures, combined with the "Tianyu Ballad", have both a fragrance of soil and a wonderful combination of pearls. From a historical perspective, this book may be a gift of our time to the future as a dual heritage of nature and culture.
The exhibition also showcased and introduced the achievements of Yin Shula and Wang Shaoqiu's "Beautiful China Art Strategy". At the same time, various scientific research and literary books on fish farming in rice fields, as well as handicrafts and cultural derivatives of fish farming from all over the country, are also exhibited.
