Hunan Art Museum holds two calligraphy exhibitions

News from our newspaper Qi Yu On September 29, the "Hunan Zhejiang Tidal Surge - Xiling Seal Engravers Society Collection Exhibition" and the third "Civilization Mutual Learning the Belt and Road" Graphic Seal Innovation Experiment Exhibition opened in Hunan Art Museum. This is the first thematic exhibition in the more than 120 years since the establishment of Xiling Seal Engraving Society, which systematically sorts out the origins of Hunan members and Hunan seal printing studies. It brings together over a hundred original works of calligraphy, painting, seal carving, and other masters such as Wu Changshuo, Huang Binhong, and Pan Tianshou, showcasing a dialogue of gold and stone that transcends time and space.

 

The exhibition is guided by the Hunan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Provincial Book Association, hosted by the Xiling Seal Engravers Society, Changsha Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Hunan Art Museum, and Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Propaganda Department, and organized by the Yuelu Seal Engravers Society and Xiangjiang New Area Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

 

Chen Zhenlian, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Vice President and Secretary General of Xiling Seal Engravers Society, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the exhibition. Yan Fuchu, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and Chairman of the Hunan Calligraphers Association, and Shu Global, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the Changsha Federation of Literary and Art Circles, delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was hosted by Li Bing, the host of Hunan TV.

 

The exhibition showcases the century long history of artistic exchange between Hunan and Zhejiang through three chapters: former presidents, predecessors of Xiling, and contemporary masters. The focus is on showcasing the artistic achievements of Hunan members such as Tang Zuishi, Luo Zuizi, Li Fuyu, and Li Li, as well as their deep emotional connection with the Xiling Seal Engraving Society.

 

Among them, Tang Zuishi, the youngest among the nine gentlemen of the founding society, and his grandfather Li Fuyao donated his villa "Xiaopangu" to the Xiling Seal Society, providing an important activity space for the newly established seal society. In 1947, Luo Yuzi was personally recommended by Ding Fuzhi to join the company. His "Infinite Scenery on Dangerous Peaks" Zhu Wenyin, with thick and vast lines, showcases the unique temperament of Hunan artists.

 

At the same time, the third "Civilization Mutual Learning the Belt and Road" Graphic Printing Innovation Experiment Exhibition was held in the exhibition hall on the second floor of Changsha Art Museum. The exhibition shows the graphic works created with the cultural symbols, historical heritage, national flower and national name, literal signs and other materials of the "the Belt and Road" partners.

 

Before the opening ceremony, Wang Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Social Affairs Committee of Xiling Seal Society, presented more than 140 editions of "Xiling Art Collection" totaling 260 volumes, as well as important books such as "Golden Seal Collection" to Yuelu Seal Society on behalf of Xiling Seal Society. Li Li, President of Yuelu Seal Society, accepted the donation.

 

The exhibition will continue until October 19th.
