On October 15th, the "Calligraphy in Harmony · Cross-Strait Splendor - Contemporary Female Calligraphers Invitation Exhibition", guided by the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, jointly hosted by the Women Calligraphers Committee of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association and the Taiwan Chinese Women Calligraphers Association, and organized by the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce Salon, was held at the Mingyue Tower, a historic building in Hangzhou.
The opening ceremony was divided into two parts: the donation of works and the exhibition of works. A specially planned poetry recitation event, "Cross-Strait Poetic Rhyme," was held, where calligraphy and poetry formed a dialogue across time and space. On the scene, four female calligraphers, Shen Yingli, Li Yan, Hu Zhaoxia, and Long Feng, donated their works to support the Wenlan Recitation Troupe of Zhejiang Library, Mao Yuanchang Glasses, Liuyan Culture, and Mingxin Cultural Creative.
The exhibition brings together exquisite works from 61 female calligraphers specially invited from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Among them, there are 10 works from members of the Women Calligraphers Committee of the China Calligraphers Association, 26 works from women calligraphers who are members of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, and 25 works from female calligraphers from Taiwan. In addition, works by Zhu Guantian, advisor to the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, Zhao Yanjun, chairman of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, He Difei, vice chairman and secretary general, and vice chairmen Wang Bo, He Laisheng, Shen Hao, Shen Leping, and Shen Yansong are also exhibited. With their unique inspiration and gentleness, the female calligraphers have outlined the delicate perception of contemporary women towards their family, country, and culture through their delicate strokes and turns.
During the exhibition, female calligraphers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait sat together to discuss art, exchange poems and calligraphy, and, with their shared blood and cultural heritage, wrote a gentle yet firm footnote to this era. The exhibition will run until October 30th and will then be moved to Taiwan, China for display.
