Ma Yanjue, a retired soldier, has won the Silver Award at the National Symposium on Calligraphy and Painting Creation and Exchange for Middle aged and Elderly People. In 2013, it was jointly recognized by the Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Market magazine and Dafeng Art (Hong Kong) Auction Company as calligraphy with a polishing fee of 1000 yuan per square foot.
