邓光炎Deng Guangyan

Deng Guangyan, born in Wuxi, Jiangsu in July 1944, is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphy Society, a council member of the Chinese Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the China Central Television Ink Painting and Painting Association, a member of the Hong Kong Calligraphers Association, and a member of the Wuxi Calligraphers Association.

 

Deng Guangyan has had a passion for calligraphy since childhood, with a wide range of styles, among which the most outstanding is seal script. He studied the calligraphy styles of famous seal script masters throughout history, forming his own unique artistic style, full of elegance and ancient charm. The composition is balanced and broad, and the overall momentum is strong and vigorous. He writes freely without losing rules, rigorously without losing natural charm, and the ancient characters radiate the youth of art. Actively participated in some calligraphy and painting activities in Huishan District and Chang'an Street, and won multiple awards in various calligraphy and painting competitions. Last year, his 24 seal script works were exhibited at the "Inheriting National Art Rhythms and Moving China" art master achievement exhibition hosted by the Beijing Huaxia National Art Calligraphy and Painting Art Center, which had a great influence in the calligraphy and painting art world.

 

In 2008, won the Gold Award for "Red Art Commemorating the 115th Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth" (Beijing).

In 2009, won the "Xibaipo Cup" Outstanding Work Award, with works collected in Shijiazhuang.

In 2009, won the gold medal at the "National Exhibition Commemorating the 1020th Anniversary of Fan Zhongyan" (Nanjing).

In 2010, won the "Yueyang Tower Cup" Gold Award (Changsha).

In 2011, won the first "Xizhi Cup" Gold Award (Beijing).

In 2012, he won the silver medal in the "National Painting and Calligraphy Competition for the Middle aged and the Elderly" (Mount Huangshan).

In 2013, won the Gold Award for "Red Art Commemorating the 120th Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth" (Beijing).

In 2014, he won the first "Mount Taishan Charm Cup" Grand Prize (Mount Taishan).

In 2015, won the gold medal at the 5th "Yi Zhi Cup" (Beijing Diaoyutai).

In 2016, won the Innovation Award (First Prize) at the National "Middle aged and Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Competition" in Yangzhou.

In 2017, he was awarded the title of Meritorious Figure for "Fulfilling the Chinese Dream Together and Building a New China" (Beijing).

In 2018, won the first prize of the first "Qunfang Cup" (Jiangyin, Wuxi, Yixing).

In 2019, won the Excellent Award for "CCTV Ink Painting and Paintings Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of National Day" (Beijing).

On December 31, 2019, the 23rd China Contemporary Powerful Calligraphy and Painting Auction was held at Shenyang Art Museum. Excellent works of art by Professor Deng Guangyan, as well as works by leading figures in the art world such as Li Keran, He Jiaying, Yu Zhixue, Yu Bailing, Ouyang Zhongshi, Fan Zeng, and Qi Gong, and nearly 200 contemporary Chinese powerful calligraphers and painters with market appreciation potential, including Cai Fengming, Wang Xuezhong, Feng Yong, Liu Qiuqiong, Ran Junwen, Wu Xujiu, Jie Yinsheng, have been included in the auction.
